I do note they have 2 cooldown abilities to occasionally boost their range (slug shot and arc pulser with accuracy perk), but I was thinking… Is it so bad to have an Officer Assault? Build him as a tank with low defence and high dodge, stick him in half cover, soak up hits, shoot with slug shot and pulser, and when they are on cooldown, and you only have poor accuracy shots left, you use officer abilities? One thing I don’t recall seeing is the Officer Assault, they seem weak for the fact that they have such poor range and you don’t want to pull the millions of pods that exist in LW2.
Officer Holotargeter Sharpshooter in a large combat group who can holotarget and use an officer ability, but you are missing out on sniper damage and could just be using a Specialist in this “Bard” type role instead (for those who know D&D).Officer Ranger in a large combat group can shoot once and use an officer ability, but you are losing damage output without that second attack with perks like executioner, locked on, and that PCS that gives you a bonus if you miss on your first attack.There has been some debate about the following: Officer Specialists to stand in the centre of a large combat group (raids/ambushes/retaliations) and boost the squad.Officer Shinobi to Oscar Mike civilians and to pair with non-officer Specialist to command them to improve hacking opportunities.
